Only about a third of homes for people with disabilities (LSS homes) have an evacuation plan, a new status report from the National Board of Health and Welfare shows. In 2021, about half of homes had such a plan.
"People with disabilities are already a vulnerable group. When crisis preparedness is lacking, their safety and security risk being seriously affected," says Björn Eriksson, Director General of the National Board of Health and Welfare, in a statement.
Around 40,000 people currently live in adapted housing such as group or service housing.
