Another year has almost passed, and it's time to sum it up – including in the obligatory "what we've googled during the year" format. And not entirely unexpectedly, it's major news events, sports championships and viral phenomena that have mostly shaped what we want to find out more about.
In 2025, the most trending search was Charlie Kirk, the American right-wing debater who was shot dead during a speech on September 10. Next came serial killer Ed Gain, about whom Netflix made a drama series. Many also searched for Ozzy Osbourne, the British rock legend who passed away this summer.
We've also googled Labubu, the monster doll that took the world by storm this year. But many have also wanted to know what listeria is, which was due to the high-profile and unusually large listeria outbreak at a restaurant in Stockholm.
However, everything we want to find out is not some new viral phenomenon. The most common question in Sweden in the "How to/should/can?" category was "How to make a cappuccino?"
