Saab water-bombed during a fire safety exercise, disturbing cormorants in Lake Yngaren in southwestern Sörmland last summer. Now the company is being fined 50,000 kronor for species protection offense, reports P4 Sörmland.
It is considered proven that the protected bird was disturbed by the water-bombing.
The offense was committed within the framework of their business activities due to negligence, says prosecutor Håkan Andersson at the national unit for environmental and work environment in Jönköping to the radio.
Saab has apologized for the incident and stated that they have now reviewed their processes to ensure that something similar does not happen again.
