The billion-dollar deal between Warner Bros. Discovery and Paramount Skydance could come one step closer to closing on Thursday. At 10 a.m. US time (4 p.m. local time in Sweden), Warner Bros. Discovery shareholders will vote on the deal.
The two companies announced earlier this spring that the deal would be finalized after Netflix dropped out of an ongoing bid, meaning Paramount Skydance would buy Warner Bros. Discovery for $111 billion including debt.
However, the deal has been controversial and has faced criticism. After the shareholders' vote, the deal must be approved by US authorities.
