A Swedish citizen suspected of a particularly serious drug offense is extradited by Morocco to Sweden.

The extradition takes place shortly after a high-level meeting between representatives of Swedish authorities and Moroccan counterparts, the police write on their website.

The purpose of the visit was to strengthen joint work against serious organized crime and further deepen cooperation.

"Another person connected to serious organized crime has now been extradited to Sweden. The person will now be brought to trial in Sweden. I would like to express my sincere thanks to Morocco for its good cooperation," writes Minister of Justice Gunnar Strömmer in a comment.

The extradition comes just over a month after a Swedish citizen, suspected of several cases of attempted murder and serious weapons crimes, was extradited from Mexico to Sweden.

"I'll say it again: The gang criminals are not safe anywhere. No matter where in the world they are, we will find them, arrest them and lock them up. One by one. We are not done until we have them all," writes Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson on X.
