The man is suspected of a particularly serious drug offense in Gothenburg the same year, the police say.
The man was arrested in the Kosovo capital, Pristina, on Tuesday night.
It is too early to discuss the specific suspicions against the man, according to Ginger Johansson, who is a prosecutor at the National Unit against International and Organized Crime.
"At this stage, I cannot go into any further details about the investigation. But I can state that it is very positive that the suspected principal is now in police custody," she says in a statement on the police website.
