The new Beach World Series tour will be launched in November. Swedish volleyball hopes that one stop on the tour will be in Båstad, on the center court that usually hosts the ATP tennis tournament, from 2027 onwards.
"We are very happy to join forces with such experienced and competent players in Båstad. It is tough international competition, and it takes hard work to win this," says Swedish Volleyball's general secretary, Simon Dahl.
The Beach World Series replaces the Beach Pro Tour as the most prestigious tour, although the Pro Tour will remain.
Sweden has two of the world's best teams in Jonathan Hellvig and David Åhman, and Jacob Hölting Nilsson and Elmer Andersson, ranked first and fourth in the world respectively.
