Walmart sales growth slows to weakest level in six years

Sales at Walmart's US stores, which have been open for at least a year, rose 2.6 percent compared with the second quarter of last year. That was worse than analysts' forecasts and also the weakest growth in six years.

Among other things, revenue from pharmacy products fell because of lower prices.

Sales at Walmart stores are considered an important gauge of the purchasing power of American households.
