Jacob Wallenberg, who is also chairman of the Wallenberg Circle's investment company Investor, wants more business leaders to have the strength and courage to voice their opinions publicly.

Entrepreneurs who operate in the real world should tell their story and what their challenges are. Not many people do that in Sweden.

This applies to the entire business community, large and small.

It can be a listed company, but it doesn't have to be. It could be restaurateurs and many different companies. The point is that everyone is active in the Swedish economy and it's important in Swedish society that they make their voice heard.

Calls for commitment

At an event in central Stockholm on Thursday, Jacob Wallenberg urged participants and the audience, including AB Volvo CEO Martin Lundstedt, EQT CEO Per Franzén and Kinnevik Chairman Cristina Stenbeck, to take action.

I really want to emphasize how incredibly important it is that you get involved.

Business leaders must themselves highlight what is important for their businesses, Wallenberg says.

Ultimately, it is not an organization that will fix this for you. Ultimately, it is the collective that gets its messages across in different ways - you have a great responsibility there.

“Want more”

I say that as an entrepreneur who tries to be out in the media and make my voice heard - there aren't many others who do that.

He hopes for a change.

I call for more entrepreneurs who are involved in social issues and in what is important for our country, and who have the strength and courage to do it more clearly and more openly.
