After several days in a row with new record levels, the New York stock exchange's leading index fell back on Tuesday.

Broad S&P 500 lost 0,6 percent, Dow Jones industrial index went down 0,2 percent and technology-heavy Nasdaqs composite index fell 1,0 percent.

Chip giant Nvidia, which rose sharply on Monday, now backed down 2,8 percent. In the other direction went aircraft manufacturer Boeing, up 2,0 percent, after Uzbekistan Airways placed an order for 14 planes of the Dreamliner model.

Pharmaceutical company Kenvue recovered from the fall the day before, when the market acted on information that President Donald Trump would warn about the company's pain-relieving medicine Tylenol. And Trump indeed claimed later that there is a connection between the medicine and autism, but without referring to any research that supported the claim. Kenvue shares lifted 1,6 percent.
