Wall Street rose, oil and precious metals fell

The New York Stock Exchange rose slightly on Tuesday, while prices of gold, silver and oil fell.

The Dow Jones industrial average, the broad S&P 500 index and the tech-heavy Nasdaq composite index all closed up 0.1 percent.

The decline continued for cloud services giants Salesforce and Oracle, which fell 2.9 and 3.9 percent, respectively. So far this year, they have plunged 27.3 and 21 percent, respectively.

Several of the technology companies heavily connected to AI had a tough day.

During the day, there were signs of constructive talks on tensions between the US and Iran. The price of North Sea oil (Brent) fell 1.9 percent to $67.4 per barrel. A barrel of US WTI oil fell 1 percent to $62.3.

Gold fell 2.3 percent to $4,877 per ounce; silver fell 4.3 percent to $73 per ounce.
