Wall Street Rebounds to Close Higher After Turbulent Week as Oil Prices Top $104

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.8 percent, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite and the broad-based S&P 500 each closed up 0.6 percent.

Trading started clearly higher and received a further boost after US President Donald Trump announced that he had reached an agreement with Russian leader Vladimir Putin on supplying Russian diesel to both the US and global markets.

Several technology stocks were among the day’s gainers on Friday, including Palantir, which rose 5.2 percent, Microsoft, up 2.4 percent, and Amazon, which closed up 3.3 percent.

A barrel of North Sea oil (Brent) now costs $104.30.
