Wall Street opens higher despite uncertainty over Iran

Shortly after opening, the Dow Jones industrial average rose 0.3 percent, while the broad S&P 500 index gained 0.2 percent and the technology-heavy Nasdaq composite rose 0.4 percent.

The market is currently weighing President Donald Trump's latest remarks about war with Iran. Late Monday night, he stated in an interview that the U.S. was "very far" ahead of the estimated four- to five-week timeline.

A moment later, however, he announced that Washington would continue to attack "until the enemy is totally and decisively defeated."
