Wall Street Mixed as SpaceX Slumps, Nvidia Rises on Musk AI Deal

The broad S&P 500 index fell 0.2 percent, the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite Index lost 0.8 percent while the industrial-heavy Dow Jones was up 0.5 percent.

AI giant Nvidia rose 3.4 percent after SpaceX founder Elon Musk said that his company will only use Nvidia chips to expand the company's AI infrastructure.

SpaceX, in turn - which on Tuesday beat expectations in its first quarterly report since its New York stock market listing - plunged 13.6 percent due to the high costs of the company's AI investments.

Chip giant AMD, which reported on Tuesday, also fell 7 percent.

A barrel of North Sea oil (Brent) costs just over $79 at the close of trading in the US, while the corresponding price for American WTI oil is $75.
