New York stock exchange continued weakly upwards on Thursday and the leading indexes thereby reached new record levels.

Broad S&P 500-index rose 0.1 percent, Nasdaq's technology-heavy composite index climbed 0.4 percent and Dow Jones industrial index increased 0.2 percent.

Many technology stocks rose after Open AI, giant in artificial intelligence, announced that the company enters into a collaboration with several South Korean companies in the Stargate project – a project where 500 billion dollars will be invested in infrastructure for artificial intelligence.

Semiconductor manufacturers Micro Devices and Broadcom rose, for example, 3.5 and 1.4 percent, respectively.

Occidental Petroleum fell 7.3 percent after the oil company announced that the subsidiary Oxychem is sold to Berkshire Hathaway for 9.7 billion dollars, equivalent to 91.2 billion kronor. It may be the last major deal that Berkshire Hathaway carries out with the 95-year-old legend Warren Buffett as the investment company's CEO. He will step down at the turn of the year.
