Last year, bonuses rained down on employees in finance companies on Wall Street.
In total, investors shared a record-high 47.5 billion dollars, according to figures from the state of New York, which corresponds to around 477 billion kronor.
This means a median bonus of 244,700 dollars (nearly 2.5 million kronor), which is almost three times as much as the previous year.
This is the first major increase in bonuses since the pandemic and the largest total sum since 1987, when the measurements began.
At the same time, the profits of finance companies nearly doubled during the year.
