You have to distinguish between election-night voter turnout and the final voter turnout. Since not all votes are counted during the evening, it is lower; the difference is usually about three percentage points, Ekengren Oscarsson said earlier in the night on SVT's election watch.

In 2022, voter turnout was 84.2 percent and in 2018 it was 87.2 percent.

During election night at the last election, voter turnout was approximately 81.3 percent. 80.3 would then mean that we are down a percentage point in total voter turnout, says Ekengren Oscarsson.
