Alpine superstar Lindsey Vonn will have to wait to test her injured knee on the Olympic downhill course in Cortina. Thursday's practice is canceled due to snowfall.

It is snowing in the Dolomites in northern Italy and, due to the weather forecast for Thursday, the first of three training sessions has been canceled, the organizer said in a short statement.

The other training runs are scheduled for Friday and Saturday.

American Lindsey Vonn was one of the favorites to win gold at the Winter Games, but the 41-year-old tore the cruciate ligament in her left knee during a race rehearsal in Crans-Montana, Switzerland, last Friday. Despite that, Vonn is set to compete in the Olympic downhill on Sunday.

"I will do everything in my power to stand in the starting gate," she said the other day.
