The result compares with SEK 11.7 billion in the corresponding quarter last year.

Analysts had on average expected an adjusted operating profit of SEK 14.8 billion, according to Bloomberg.

We are seeing organic growth of 7 percent, resulting in sales of almost SEK 120 billion for the group during the third quarter, says Lundstedt.

Truck orders rose to 46,918 vehicles in the third quarter, from 37,134 last year. The average forecast was 46,502 vehicles.

"It is very pleasing that the underlying business is performing strongly. We have order intake that continues at good levels in several regions and in several business areas," he says.

But Lundstedt sees challenges ahead.

"Given the conflicts we unfortunately have around the world, energy prices in particular are affected. We continue to have a fairly volatile situation when it comes to tariffs and what applies over time, for example," says Lundstedt.

Net sales during the quarter rose to SEK 119.5 billion, up from SEK 110.7 billion.
