Volvo cars is recalling thousands of cars after a fault in the software that affects the brakes, writes Dagens Nyheter. The fault concerns cars with electric motors with model years 2025 and 2026 that have automatic braking when the gas pedal is released. In Sweden, it involves 12,000 cars.
The fault can be rectified remotely and it is also possible to disable the function.
We are in the process of contacting all affected customers and a software update is being rolled out during the week. Those who want to can also go to a workshop and have it rectified already now, says Magnus Holst, press chief at Volvo cars to the magazine.
