The British mobile operator Vodafone reports an operating profit of 1,015 million pounds for the first quarter of the company's broken financial year, ended in June.
This can be compared to 1,545 million pounds during the corresponding quarter last year.
Revenues for the quarter totalled 9.4 billion pounds, up from 9.0 billion a year earlier. The organic growth for mobile services was 5.5 per cent, which can be compared to an average forecast among analysts of 4.9 per cent according to Bloomberg.
Vodafone confirms its profit forecast for the entire financial year.
"After two years of transformation and change, Vodafone is now well positioned for several years of growth in both Europe and Africa", the company writes in the report.
