The recommendation applies from today, December 3, and until further notice and covers residents in Brissund, Själsö, Visby, Vibble, Väskinde and Västerhejde who use municipal drinking water.
The reason is that high levels of organisms were discovered in the drinking water during a sample taken on November 28. Among other things, these are copepods, small crustaceans that, according to the region, normally occur in drinking water at lower levels.
Extended sampling showed an increase in copepods in the Visby area. However, there is no presence of viruses or bacteria in the water.
Corrected: In an earlier version of the text, there was an incorrect statement that the VMA had been sent.
