A female employee at the accommodation in Helsingborg was attacked on Sunday evening. A man in his 60s has been arrested on suspicion of strangling her.
This summer, several incidents were reported in which staff were injured, according to documents seen by the newspaper.
After an inspection, the Swedish Work Environment Authority criticized the accommodation for lacking safety procedures and risk assessments.
The accommodation has increased staffing after the summer's events.
"We have updated the risk assessments," department head Susanne Rosenström told Arbetet.
