Most of the deaths have occurred in Jaramana and Sahnaya just outside Damascus. There, 21 fighters from the Druze minority group have been killed, according to the British-based SOHR. Ten civilians and 30 people from government-loyal factions have also lost their lives.
In the province of al-Suwayda further south, 40 Druze have been killed, including 35 in an ambush.
The spiritual leader of the Druze what he calls an "unjustifiable campaign of genocide" against his people after the recent days of sectarian clashes.
The leader calls for immediate intervention from "international forces to maintain peace and prevent these crimes from continuing".
Israel's Defense Minister Israel Katz warns Syria's Islamist government on Thursday not to do enough to protect the Druze.
"If the attacks against the Druze and fails the Syrian regime to prevent them, Israel will respond with significant force", says Katz in a statement.
