After a weak premiere with 0–0 against Costa Rica, Brazil has gained momentum in the championship.
The match against Paraguay on Friday, local time, started a bit shaky. After nearly half an hour of play, Brazil's Lucas Paqueta got a penalty – and missed.
In the 35th minute, he made up for it by passing to Vinicius Junior, who gave Brazil the lead. Savinho then extended the lead in the 43rd minute, and shortly after, Vinicius Junior scored another goal.
Paraguay responded with a goal in the 48th minute by Omar Alderete, but then Brazil got another penalty, which Paqueta managed better than the first.
Brazil won 4–1 and is now second in Group D after Colombia.
