Villas and condominiums more expensive in May

In the three metropolitan areas, house prices rose by about 1 percent in May. House prices nationwide have risen by 2.2 percent over the past 12 months.

Residential apartment prices in the metropolitan areas varied in May. In the Stockholm area, prices were almost unchanged; in the Gothenburg area they rose 0.6 percent, and in the Malmö area 0.7 percent.

At an annual rate, tenant-owned apartments have risen 4.4 percent nationwide. Central Stockholm stands out with an increase of almost 8 percent.

Between March and May this year, approximately 49,100 homes were sold in the country, compared with approximately 45,000 in the same period last year.
