Villa Vie Odyssey Owner Says He Feels Terrible as Passengers Are Stranded in Cambodia

The “Eternity Ship,” Villa Vie Odyssey, is in financial crisis due to soaring fuel bills, and passengers are stranded in Cambodia. Ship owner Mikael Pettersson is now taking responsibility for the problems in an interview with Business Insider.

The Villa Vie Odyssey has been shut down, and the company is trying to rebuild its finances. The ship is now docked in Sihanoukville, Cambodia.

Mikael Pettersson, who owns the ship, told Business Insider that he “feels terrible” and blamed the impact of world politics.

“I think we would have done very well if there had been no war with Iran,” he told the newspaper.

The ship has been traveling the world since 2024. For $230,000 (just over $2.3 million) or more, you can buy a permanent home on the ship.
