The suspected unauthorized connection has taken place in Lindesberg municipality and the electricity company Linde energy – which has carried out control measurements of the man's abnormally low electricity consumption – believes that the theft has been going on for over three decades.

In addition to the control measurement, the company has also visited the man on several occasions and then noticed thick rubber cables that were drawn through the house.

The man himself denies the crime and says in the interrogation that it was a friend, who rented the house from him several years ago, who connected a cord from the electrical cabinet down to the basement to be able to use a drying fan.

The charges against the man are based solely on the documented measurement – where the loss for the electricity company is estimated at just over 60,000 kronor.
