The alarm about the fire came in shortly after 02 after the homeowner himself alerted.
Based on the information we have, there were supposed to be three people in the villa. Two have been taken to hospital and one is currently missing, says Elisabeth Glaas, press spokesperson for the police.
The fire raged during the night and by morning the villa was completely burned down. The house is located near E45, which had to be closed in both directions.
The incident is initially classified as aggravated arson. The police have left the scene, but will return as soon as possible.
We will investigate with our technicians, but due to the heat and sometimes risk of collapse, it may take some time before we can enter the area, says Elisabeth Glaas.
