Sandviken scored 226 goals (8.69 goals on average per match) during the premiere season of the elite series (2007-2008) in its current form, according to Nya Lidköpings-Tidningen.

The goal record is now being chased by the bandy supreme Villa Lidköping of recent years. Via the 8-3 win against Gripen, Villa now stands at 186 goals in 21 basic series matches, which gives an average of 8.86 goals with five rounds left to play.

Against Gripen, goal king Christoffer Edlund scored the 4-0 goal at the end of the first half - it was the 37-year-old's 57th full hit this elite series season.

Although Gripen reduced the score after the break, Villa Lidköping kept going. William Arvidsson (a total of three goals) and Tobias Augustsson each scored two goals in the second act when it finally became an 8-3 win.

Villa leads the elite series with nine points ahead of Edsbyn, who have one fewer match played, and everything suggests that the Västgötarna will take home the basic series for the fifth season in a row.

Västerås SK and Villa have met in the last two SM finals with one gold each. Last season, VSK finished second in the elite series, but now the fourth-placed team is losing ground in the hunt for second place Edsbyn.

At home against Hammarby, it was a surprising loss after Jesper Larsson decided for the Stockholm team with his 4-3 goal in the 84th minute.
