"We can confirm that we have been subjected to a ransomware attack. We continue to work on the incident together with external help. The incident has been reported to the police," Dorotea Municipality writes on its website.
The municipality further says it has ensured that "activities of social importance are maintained."
Vilhelmina Municipality's website is down and its e-services are not working, reports SVT Västerbotten.
Dorotea's city network has not been affected by the attack, while Vilhelmina's has.
There is no forecast yet for when the systems will be restored.
