Viktor Gyökeres' goal tally is becoming increasingly difficult to understand with every goal he scores.
And during Sunday's match against Boavista, the 26-year-old took his tally to 37 league goals in 29 matches this season, after scoring a hat-trick in 50 minutes.
If you add his 14 full hits in other competitions, such as the domestic cup, league cup, and Champions League, he is now up to an almost unbelievable 51 goals in total this season.
The goals mean that he is the first player in 23 years to score over 35 goals in the same season in the Portuguese league. The last time it happened was in 2002 when Brazilian Jardel scored 42, according to Transfermarkt.
The Swede started the evening's goal tally as early as the sixth minute, and in added time of the first half, he struck again. The hat-trick was completed later in the second half, when the super striker scored his 51st goal of the season in the 50th minute.
The hat-trick is the Swede's second in two league matches. Nine days ago, he scored three goals against Moreirense.
What happened in between?
A goal and an assist in the cup against Rio Ave.
The match against Boavista is ongoing.
