+ Viktor Gyökeres and his Arsenal won the double against Atlético Madrid - and the final will be played in Budapest against either Paris Saint-Germain or Bayern Munich.

+ Fredrik Ljungberg and Henrik Larsson faced each other in the 2006 final, where Larsson's Barcelona beat Ljungberg's Arsenal 2-1. "Henke" was substituted on and provided two assists in the match.

+ Patrik Andersson played for German giants Bayern Munich - and won against Valencia on penalties in 2001, despite Andersson missing his penalty. Joachim Björklund was part of Valencia, but was injured and missed the final.

+ In 2000, Björklund was on the bench for the entire match when his Valencia lost 0–3 to Real Madrid.

+ Jesper Blomqvist started the 1999 Champions League final for Manchester United. Manchester United won 2–1 against Bayern Munich after two late goals in extra time.

The list is based on the 1992/1993 season, when the European Cup became the current Champions League.
