Viktor Claesson's time at FC Copenhagen is coming to an end. The 34-year-old will leave the club when his contract expires this summer. "We are moving back to Sweden," he told FCK's website.

Since moving to FC Copenhagen in 2022, Viktor Claesson has had a very successful time at the Danish giants. The Swede has helped the club win three league titles and two cup titles, while also wearing the captain's armband.

However, this summer his stay ends.

"It's good timing for me and my family. We're moving back to Sweden, and it feels like the right time. I think it also suits FC Copenhagen well - it's time for others to take over," Claesson says in a statement.

Rumors have suggested that Claesson's parent club, Superettan club IFK Värnamo, is close to being the next step in his career.

Viktor Claesson has 74 international caps and was a key player in the national team that reached the quarter-finals of the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
