Exactly eleven minutes into the first period, the first and only goal of the match came. Assisted by teammates Henri Jokiharju and Casey Mittelstadt, Viktor Arvidsson scored the decisive backhand shot.
"I just try to be a distraction in front of the goal, win duels and create chances for my teammates. I enjoy those types of games," the 32-year-old said after the game, according to nhl.com.
After the match, Boston goalkeeper Joonas Korpisalo was also praised for making 27 saves.
The team is in good form right now. The win is Boston's fifth in the last six games played, and the third in a row. However, the 1–0 result is one of the team's weaker results. Just the day before, they beat the New York Rangers by a whopping 10–2.
"We weren't as sharp as we usually are, but we kept doing what we do, kept playing and that has given us success this year," Arvidsson said.
