Exactly eleven minutes into the first period, the only goal of the match was scored. Assisted by teammates Henri Jokiharju and Casey Mittelstadt, Viktor Arvidsson scored the decisive backhand shot.

"I just try to be a distraction in front of the goal, win duels and create chances for my teammates. I enjoy those types of games," the 32-year-old said after the game, according to nhl.com.

After the match, Boston goalkeeper Joonas Korpisalo was also praised for saving 27 shots.

The team is riding high right now. The win is Boston's fifth in the last six games, and their third in a row. Just the day before, they defeated the New York Rangers 10–2.

"We weren't as sharp as we usually are, but we keep doing what we do, keep playing, and that has given us success this year," Arvidsson said.
