When it was clear that Jacqline with "Woman" had made it to the final qualifiers, the linear broadcast on SVT1 from the first round of Melodifestivalen in Linköping was cut off for several minutes. Instead, viewers were directed to SVT Play.

Something that has infuriated viewers, both evening newspapers report. According to Expressen, viewers have also complained about sound problems on SVT Play during the first round.

It's not fun that people are angry. Not everything fits on "old TV". You can find everything on Play, and my recommendation is that you turn it on from the beginning. Until last year, broadcast was our main platform. Now we are moving to Play, that's where the future is, says Melodifestivalen project manager Anders Wistbacka to Expressen.

The new format applies to the first four rounds. The fifth and final round, including the final qualifier, will be broadcast in its entirety on SVT1.
