Vietnamese Taxi Company Green SM Prepares to Enter Sweden With 2,500 Permits Approved

Vietnamese taxi company Green SM is preparing to enter the Swedish market. The decision to approve traffic permits for 2,500 vehicles has drawn criticism from other industry players.

In an industrial area north of Stockholm, hundreds of cars are lined up, all painted in the taxi company Green SM’s signature turquoise.

Dagens Nyheter reports that 400 cars were registered in October.

There has long been speculation that Green SM is setting its sights on Sweden - and that it could pose a major challenge to companies such as Uber and Bolt.

At the same time, job ads on Arbetsförmedlingen are seeking drivers “for the launch in Sweden”.

Taxi Stockholm has criticised the approval of such a large number of permits in comments to Aftonbladet. Taxi Stockholm has around 1,900 cars.
