The meeting is being hosted by Britain's Keir Starmer and France's Emmanuel Macron, who, along with Germany's Friedrich Merz, also took part in a meeting with US President Donald Trump on Wednesday. The atmosphere there appears to have been tense.
"We discussed Ukraine in quite strong terms," Trump said afterwards, according to the British The Guardian .
The president also said that continued discussions that may occur between the United States and Europe this weekend risk being a "waste of time."
In addition to Starmer, Macron and Merz, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and a number of other European leaders will also participate in today's video meeting. Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson confirms to TT that he will be there.
