Novak Djokovic has done his part to make a dream meeting with Rafael Nadal in the second round of the Olympic tennis tournament.
The Serbian world number two outclassed doubles specialist Matt Ebden, South Africa, with 6–0, 6–1. Ebden got a spot in the tournament since Danish star Holger Rune withdrew due to injury.
If Rafael Nadal wins his opening match against Hungarian Marton Fucsovics, Djokovic awaits in a blockbuster match on the clay in Paris.
Djokovic leads the head-to-head statistics against the Spaniard with 30 wins to 29.
Also, Nadal's doubles partner and compatriot Carlos Alcaraz won his first match – 6–3, 6–1 against Hady Habib from Libya. In the next round, Alcaraz faces Cameron Norrie, Great Britain, or Tallon Griekspoor, the Netherlands.
