Bonniers Bokklubbar has awarded the prize eleven times, and it is unusual for suspense novels to top the podium.
"I am completely overwhelmed. Just being nominated was a great honor, but winning in competition with my own favorite authors feels unexpected and incredibly fun. This is the readers' award, and it means everything to me," says Victor Pavic Lundberg in a press release.
Twelve books were nominated for the award, with "Twelve Breaths to the Lake" by Pauline Riccius coming in second place and "All That Was You" by Emily Spurr in third place.
Pavic Lundberg received the award at the Gothenburg Book Fair.
