The Netherlands set the pace from the start and after 20 minutes they had a 2–0 lead after two goals by Brian Brobbey.
"We concede goals early in the game, but after the drink break, things get better and we create some. We make it harder for them, but we concede easy goals," says Victor Nilsson Lindelöf and continues:
It's clear that it's tough. You never want to lose a game and no one wants this result. But we're doing good things and we'll take that with us. We still have everything in our own hands.
The Netherlands eventually won by a whopping 5–1.
If you are half a meter wrong against such players, you will be penalized. You should absolutely be able to close that area. We should not concede three identical goals.
Lindelöf now urges calm and says they must look ahead.
We are good with the ball, we manage to find good spaces. We have good players and it is a match we can learn from.
