Victor Hedman Scores Overtime Winner as Tampa Bay Beats Seattle 4-3

Swedish NHL star Victor Hedman was the hero for Tampa Bay. The veteran scored his first goal of the season when it mattered most - in overtime against Seattle. “It’s always nice to contribute,” he told Aftonbladet after the 4-3 victory.

Tampa Bay and Seattle were neck and neck, with both teams taking the lead at different points in the game. Just over 15 minutes into the third period, Seattle's Matty Beniers scored the tying goal to make it 3–3.

In overtime, however, a Swedish duo came through for Tampa Bay. Just over two minutes into overtime, Pontus Holmberg set up Hedman, who scored with a backhand to make it 4–3 and secure the win.

"I saw a small gap and took it," Hedman says of his goal.

Tampa Bay has won five of its seven games this NHL season.
