Hedman has been out of action since March 19. He left the ice after the first period of Tampa's game against Vancouver.
Last night, the 35-year-old was back on Tampa's defence in a practice game against Nashville, which they won 2-1.
Hedman played almost 20 minutes and did not score any points.
Hedman won the Stanley Cup with Tampa in 2020 and 2021 and is considered one of the league's top defencemen. He also won World Championship gold with Tre Kronor in 2017.
