84-year-old McConnell, who for many years has been one of the country's most prominent politicians, was hospitalized in June after falling at home and losing consciousness.
On Monday, he was back to take part in a bill in the agricultural sector.
I am still not fully recovered. But I have assured Majority Leader (John) Thune that, while I continue with physical therapy, I will do my best to be there for difficult votes when our caucus needs me.
McConnell's absence from the Senate, where Republicans have a narrow majority, has at times made it more difficult for President Donald Trump to pass legislation.
