It was more than halfway into the lost match (3-5) against Kalmar at Hovet that Dick Axelsson was ejected for "abuse of officials".
The Djurgården veteran did not initially want to go to the penalty box, but coach Robert Kimby persuaded him. Then Axelsson is said to have told the linesman: "If you put your hands on me again, you know what will happen."
The referee is said to have - according to the report to the disciplinary committee - asked what he said, and then Axelsson repeated: "You understand what will happen if you put your hands on me again."
After the exchange of words, it was game over for the veteran - Axelsson got a match penalty.
And now the Swedish Ice Hockey Federation's disciplinary committee is punishing Dick Axelsson with a three-match suspension and a fine of 6,000 kronor.
