The ship was supposed to leave Uddevalla and head to Nouakchott in Mauritania on Tuesday, but was stopped after the Transport Agency's inspectors discovered a number of deficiencies.

There are a total of 19 comments and relate, among other things, to fire safety on the ship, says the Transport Agency's press chief Mikael Andersson to the newspaper.

The ship is loaded with ammonium nitrate, but according to the harbor chief Ulf Stenberg, it poses no danger.

There are no problems. We have loaded it ourselves here and we do it every week, he says.

Ammonium nitrate was behind the notorious giant explosion in Beirut's harbor in Lebanon in 2020.
