It was a very pleased Verstappen who spoke after the race. In the victory interview in Viaplay's broadcast, he says:

To stand here as a winner for the fourth time is something I didn't think was possible. It's fantastic. But I'm proud, he says in Viaplay's broadcast.

The 27-year-old Max Verstappen, who drives for Red Bull, finished fifth on the track in Las Vegas, but secured the World Championship title since he kept his closest competitor, McLaren's Lando Norris, behind him. Norris would have needed to take three points more than Verstappen to keep the World Championship battle alive, but finished sixth.

"Challenging season"

It has been a very challenging season. Even for me as a person, it has been very challenging at times, and I've had to keep myself calm. I think this season has taught me a lot, says Verstappen.

With the World Championship title, Verstappen now has four titles. As many as Alain Prost and Sebastian Vettel. Only Juan Manuel Fangio (five) and Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher (both seven) have won more times.

Right now, I feel relieved but also very proud, says Verstappen, looking ahead.

If you look at next year, I think it will be a real battle between many drivers. But I'm hungry for more, he says.

Russell won

The Briton George Russell, who drives for Mercedes, won the race. He finished just ahead of teammate Lewis Hamilton.

I'm going to enjoy this evening with my entire team. It can't be described, I'm so happy right now, says Russell in Viaplay's broadcast.
