The reigning Formula 1 champion won the qualifying session that took place on Easter evening.
Verstappen's qualifying victory came after Lando Norris' crash. The McLaren driver, who leads the overall standings in F1, lost control of the car in a curve and drove into a wall.
Norris escaped unharmed. However, the car did not, which led to a red flag and a halt in qualifying.
Starting from pole position has this season meant victory in the four opening races.
