The history of entertainment is full of artists who wanted to become actors and failed. Isn't Veronica Maggio afraid of what people will think? Yes, I am terrified all the time, she says and laughs.

It is not the first time Veronica Maggio has been offered a film role.

Some time I got the question. I have made some test filming, which unfortunately is also recorded. Sometimes I am afraid that it will appear...

I remember a conference room where I was going to film for an action movie that never happened – but I have been busy, she says and smiles.

Written manuscript

To say the least. Since her debut in 2006, Veronica Maggio has become one of Sweden's largest artists. With "Sju steg", which has its cinema premiere on October 17, she takes the step into the film world. Does she not wonder what she has gotten herself into?

Yes, but that's what's fun. I always have that feeling when I say yes to everything. That's half the fun.

Veronica Maggio has also been involved in writing the manuscript for "Sju steg", which is directed by Andreas Öhman. The film is a kind of thriller about the seven steps of love.

During a romantic trip to Paris, Maggio's character Elle suddenly disappears. Boyfriend Josef (Joel Spira) desperately searches for her and unravels secrets from the past during the film.

We thought that a certain type of film about love was missing in Swedish film. This type of relationship story, which can be both euphoric and quite serious, comes very rarely, says Andreas Öhman.

Left a desire for more

Elle really manages to disappear from the face of the earth, which is difficult in a world where everyone is connected and searchable.

If you want to disappear today, it can be done, although it's more complicated, says Joel Spira and adds with a smile:

There is a more nerdy answer to that question, or you can just blame it on the fact that it's a movie.

It took seven years for Veronica Maggio and Andreas Öhman to make "Sju steg". Despite the hard work, it left a desire for more.

It's a long and painful process to get to make a movie. But if I could dream, I would do it again.

At the same time, her artist career is ongoing. Recently, the first part of the album "Sciura" was released, and next year Veronica Maggio will celebrate 20 years since her debut with the single "Dumpa mig".

We have a plan to do a really big concert in Stockholm. But otherwise, I'm not so much for looking back and holding on...

It's not my thing. I'm more of an upwards-forwards character!
