The American telecom giant Verizon, with Swede Hans Vestberg as CEO, reports an adjusted operating result of 12.8 billion dollars for the year's second quarter. It is an increase of 4.1 percent compared to the corresponding quarter last year.
The profit increase was larger than expected. Analysts had on average counted on 12.7 billion, according to Bloomberg.
Operating revenues increased 5.2 percent to 34.5 billion dollars, compared to expected 33.8 billion.
For the full year, Verizon expects the adjusted operating result to increase 2.5-3.5 percent compared to last year, according to an updated forecast. Previously, the forecast was 2.0-3.5 percent in profit increase.
